About Me
Hi, I'm Jess! I'm a Registered Provisional Psychologist with a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology from the University of Alberta. My work focuses on sexual health and well-being, sexual and pelvic pain, intimacy, and relationship concerns. I work with individuals and couples navigating concerns such as pain during sex, changes in desire, challenges with intimacy, and communication difficulties in their relationships.
I bring warmth, enthusiasm, and a down-to-earth approach to my work. I'm genuinely invested in my clients and value getting to know the person behind the concerns they're bringing to therapy. I approach each person with curiosity and openness, taking the time to understand their experiences and what matters to them. I'm warm and encouraging, but I'm also direct and honest. I'm comfortable asking thoughtful questions, having challenging conversations, and exploring different ways of looking at things.
My Approach
I take a whole-person approach to therapy, recognizing that our physical experiences, emotions, relationships, and sense of self are deeply connected. Experiences in one area of life can influence how we feel about ourselves and connect with others, so I aim to understand the bigger picture rather than look at any one concern in isolation.
My approach is collaborative and grounded in evidence-informed practice, drawing on person-centred and feminist perspectives. I bring psychological knowledge and practical tools to our work, while recognizing that you are the expert on your own experiences. Together, we'll work to understand what's contributing to your concerns, identify what you want to change, and explore approaches that align with your goals.
